At-A-Glance

Sorrel is a self-initiated concept for an independent hair and nail salon in London. I set myself a brief to design a landing page that feels as calm as the appointment it's selling, and makes booking the obvious next step.

Problem

Salon sites tend to lead with a booking widget and a wall of treatments. For a small, personal salon the real draw is the people and the pace: knowing who will look after you, what it will cost and that nobody will rush you. The page needed to get that across before asking anyone to book.

Approach

A warm, editorial layout with serif type, arched image crops and a muted palette. Prices sit up front with a note that every first visit starts with a consultation, the team is introduced by name before you book, and a four-step 'what to expect' section takes the nerves out of a first visit. 'Book a visit' stays in the header, with 'Ask a question first' as a softer alternative.

Outcome

A complete single-page concept covering services and prices, the team, the visit itself, a client testimonial and a booking section with address, hours and contact details.
